EcoChalk is a student-led initiative created by four high schoolers committed to addressing environmental challenges and promoting creativity in children. Each year, approximately 8.58 million metric tons of eggshell waste are generated globally, with 1.56 trillion eggshells discarded. These byproducts, often classified as hazardous waste, present significant environmental concerns. At EcoChalk, we transform this waste into an innovative, sustainable product: eco-friendly chalk.

 

Our chalk is designed with children in mind, particularly those in underfunded schools and adoption centers. With the global children’s market valued at $80 billion annually, and art supplies playing a crucial role in cognitive and fine motor skill development, our mission is to create accessible and safe art materials. We rigorously process eggshells to ensure cleanliness and safety, while incorporating natural dyes for vibrant, non-toxic colors.
